I am perplexed as to why the book store even let that happen. That is maddening! On a brighter note, when your ORIGINAL novel is published, I will market it to the ends of the earth. Your beautiful, heart-felt writing needs to be shared with the world!!

I really enjoyed finding all the inconsistencies in the pictures. Also the first sentence in the book isn’t even a sentence. Haha

Wow, seriously so creepy...I am very much not a fan of AI. I love that you were so quick to want to support a fellow writer ❤️ And that is incredibly frustrating... Thanks for sharing-- I also have been known to drop 10 or 20 bucks without a second thought because I love to support local artists! So it's good to know this is thing...Also, SO excited to buy all your amazing books someday!!! 😍🥳🥰

Kishy! Thanks for popping in on here! 💜 It was so frustrating. AI, as explained in my friend Marie’s comment, probably can be used for things like data tables and Excel without too much concern, but for people who do creative work it’s a nightmare.

Regardless of its positive uses, it’s never okay to say you “created” something and then sell it when you in fact did not create it. Ugh. 😫

I love that you always support local artists! You’ve always been wonderful at that. Yes, watch out for scams! I thought it was only happening online so far, but nope. Anyway, I love you and can’t wait for you to have a copy of my book(s??) someday! 💜

AI, in general, has come up frequently at my work. Since most of my job is to make work easier and more efficient for our clients, we talk about ways in which we might be able to use AI. I've seen it take a large table of data and convert it into an Excel table (pretty cool and what a time saver!) As I'm sure you remember, my strengths are not in the writing area, so I've used it to run some of my writing through it hoping to make it a bit more interesting. I've found that it can help me find words that just don't seem to always make it to the page the first time. I've also enjoyed the "please write in a professional, nice tone" from time to time. 🤣 BUT, it also is billed as a way to replace me and my knowledge. I have tried to use it when I've hit a bug/snag and just can't quite get passed it. I am happy to announce that my job is safe for now! You also know that my artistic abilities rival my writing skills. I was designing a flyer or something and gave AI a list of criteria, needless to say, it looks like all of my artist friend's jobs are safe for a while as well! AI is "trained" by using information others feed it. Nothing original is going to be generated, just conglomerations of others' work. I will continue to enjoy my real people stories.

Marie, thanks so much for this comment! I can definitely see how people with jobs like yours can appreciate AI for things like converting data into Excel tables. That seems like a good use of the technology. I’ve also heard from other people they use it to write “nice and professional” emails when they are struggling to do so with their own words. That seems mostly innocuous, especially if used for workplace communication and not creative or commercial pursuits.

I’m glad to hear your job is safe! Yeah, it’s a real villain for most writers/designers/illustrators/etc. I’m glad you are sticking around for real stories written by real people. It is unfortunate that some people think a human’s knowledge, life, expertise, and emotions can be replaced with AI. Thanks for explaining it further and I appreciate you reading along!
