This was the SWEETEST short post. I got a Christmas cactus this year and I could not keep it alive. I’m v inspired by your family’s green thumb and I also love this story 💘
Ahhh, thanks for reading! It’s one of my favorite little family stories. And I wish I could take credit for keeping it alive, but I definitely would be lying if I did 😆
I love this story💜 It's a beautiful metaphor for the nuturing and patience required to keep a love story growing, a living reminder of your much loved grandma and I can totally see a piece of this cactus in Jordyn, Jaxsin, and Gracie Belle's houses someday reminding them of their beautiful and loving mama😘
I have my own cactus from the 1970s that my grandparents bought me from Buttreys. It's now huge! Lucky for me my Mom took care of it for the first 20 years or so.
Marie, oh my goodness! I remember Buttreys! That’s so awesome, I love that. Thanks for sharing. Yes, luckily for me, my Grandma and Troy have nurtured ours :) I keep dogs and kids alive, but plants are another level. Cactus are also very forgiving to less-skilled gardeners, lol.

Ahhh, yes it’s a reminder of all of that! And oh my gosh. I don’t know why, but I never thought about the cactus in my own kids’ houses! 😭 😭 💜💜
